Dosage and method of use
The general dose ranges from 10 to 20 mg per kilogram of body weight, i.e., 1 to 2 ml per 10 kg.
The dosage varies according to the type as follows
- For cows, administer 10 to 40 ml intravenously or intramuscularly.
- Calves: 3 to 15 ml subcutaneously, intravenously, or intramuscularly
- Sheep and goats: 3 to 6 ml subcutaneously, intravenously, or intramuscularly
- Horses: 10 to 30 ml intravenously
- For dogs, 1 to 8 ml subcutaneously or intramuscularly.
The treatment can be repeated after 12 hours with half the dose or after 24 hours with the full dose, and repeated as needed, for up to 7 days.
Contraindications
It should not be given to animals suffering from acute pancreatitis or bile duct obstruction.
Its use should be under the supervision of a veterinarian.
